My second attempt was to take it to an authorized dealer to have them check it out. The GM tech suggested I take it to a dealer for evaluation. I believe this reboots the infotainment software, but unfortunately, no luck in getting CarPlay to work. The tech I spoke to had me reset the infotainment system (while sitting in the vehicle) by turning off the vehicle, opening the door and then closing it, waiting for a couple minutes, then starting up the vehicle. Since I've used Apple products for years and even sold them as an Apple Product Professional, I knew it's always good to check that your cable is okay and to try any other CarPlay capable ports on the vehicle - which I did several times with no luck. I even tried every iPhone I could get my hands on (friends/family) and none of them would work with my GMC.
